Service Charge Accountant
Our client is a new and rapidly expanding Block and Estate Managing Agent. With a small, experienced team and an established client base, they are recruiting for an enthusiastic, customer focused Service Charge Accountant to help them deliver the high standards their clients are accustomed to.
Our client is seeking a driven individual with a passion for numbers and finance. The role will involve plenty of interaction with clients, contractors, and residents, however its core focus is on raising service charge demands, payment of invoices, and account reconciliation and is well suited to someone who enjoys spreadsheets, numbers, and organisation.
You can expect your day-to-day work to include:
1. Creating, uploading, and seeking approval for annual budgets for each client.
2. Raising and distributing service charge demands.
3. Recording and reconciling all receipts.
4. Following company protocols to contact owners and recover debts.
5. Paying supplier invoices.
6. Data entry and coding of supplier invoices.
7. Responding to general finance and accounting enquiries via phone and email.
8. Preparing information for external accountants to produce annual service charge accounts.
9. Assisting with statutory notices as required, including Section 20b.
Minimum 12 months experience in leasehold accounting / management. They are keen to provide industry and software specific training for a motivated, professional, and supportive team member. Must have at least a basic understanding of the RICS Residential Service Charge Code. Ideally a member of ARMA or IRPM, and they can support relevant qualifications and progression for the right candidate.
The role is expected to by hybrid with 2-3 days per week working from home, however for the right person this can be flexible depending on circumstances, experience, and aptitude for the position.
