Maintenance Technician required on a project in the Leicestershire area. You will be responsible for carrying out all PPM and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment to ensure plant availability is maximized and downtime is kept to a minimum.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Carry out scheduled PPM's on all mechanical/electrical assets that have been organized by the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.
2. Determine wear of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
3. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
4. Prevent and minimize downtime by informing the operations team of routine preventive maintenance tasks.
5. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
6. Conduct other related assignments as needed.
7. Learn and gain expertise on equipment and processes.
8. Assist with stock management of replacement parts and materials.
9. Maintain accurate records on the site's CMMS (Pirana).
Qualifications
1. Trade qualification in Engineering Maintenance - NVQ 3 or equivalent.
2. 3 years' experience in maintenance engineering.
3. Sound mechanical knowledge and practices.
