Auditor - Smart Metering

About the Role
As our clients team continues to grow in 2025, they are looking for an experienced Smart Metering Auditor to join their team. Based near Kent, you will play a key role in ensuring safety, compliance, and quality assurance across their engineering team. This role will involve site inspections, mentoring engineers, and supporting investigations, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of field operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct post-installation quality assurance inspections on smart meter installations.
2. Perform work-in-progress inspections, providing constructive feedback and support.
3. Identify and rectify poor workmanship or unsafe situations.
4. Assist with incident investigations, gathering vital evidence and interviewing engineers.
5. Provide technical support and coaching to engineers to maintain company standards.
6. Support operational teams with metering tasks and logistical requirements.
7. Deliver safety training and development sessions for engineers.
8. Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to metering issues.
9. Carry out van audits, vehicle checks, and desktop audits.
10. Attend the training academy to assist with new starter training and inductions.
This role may require occasional travel and overnight stays based on business needs.
Requirements
Essential:
1. Relevant qualifications: CCN1 or CMA1 and MET1 or a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Diploma (Level 2).
2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Smart Meter Installer.
3. Valid EUSR card.
4. Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).
5. No attributable CAT1 investigations within the last 6 months.
6. Successfully passed probation in a similar role.
Desirable:
1. Experience in coaching and mentoring engineers.
2. Previous experience as a field auditor or compliance officer.
3. Additional qualifications: MET4, Gas Medium Pressure, or Electrical 3-Phase.
All certificates and qualifications must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the start date.
