Description
The HR Advisor will support the HR department in all operational aspects of the employee journey with Flint Bishop. This position will play an integral role in areas such as employee relations, systems & processes and learning & development. This is an exciting role which will support the firm at an exciting time of growth.
This role would be suitable for a CIPD Level 5 HR professional (or equivalent experience) with experience in employment legislation, employee relations, mentoring and training. The aim is for the HR advisor to provide a responsive and high-quality HR advisory service on a range of employment matters.
The ideal candidate will provide advice but also will show initiative for looking for ways of continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this role also works alongside an existing HR Officer and is based at our offices at Pride Park, Derby, Monday to Friday 08:45 to 17:00.
Key Responsibilities
Sickness Absence Management
1. Ensure 100% completion of return to work interviews for all sickness absence.
2. Review RTW forms and highlight any areas of concern or requirement for HR intervention to the HRM/Head of HR.
3. Monitor sickness absence trends and report on Bradford Factor triggered. Prepare packs for all sickness absence meetings, and lead at first stage alongside HOD/Line Managers.
4. Conduct return to work meetings where required.
5. Monitor DSE assessments, respond to any requests and provide adjustments where necessary.
Conduct & Capability Management
1. Field initial queries from HODs/Line Managers in terms of conduct/capability concerns, advise next steps and facilitate as required.
2. Assist with employee relations matters in accordance with the Firm's Capability Policy & Disciplinary Procedure.
3. Support HODs/Line managers at first stage capability or conduct process. Prepare information packs in advance, and be present for meetings.
4. Support HODs/Line managers with creation of performance improvement documents where required.
5. Follow up on any actions set for the above points as required.
People Analytics
1. Assist as required with completion of the monthly People Dashboards, or any ad hoc reports.
2. Collate data and flag trends in relation to exit interviews.
Employee Engagement
1. Design and send 6-monthly pulse surveys, ensuring over 90% completion.
2. Prepare results spreadsheet and highlight any trends as appropriate.
3. Create & manage annual wellbeing strategy alongside Head of HR. Send monthly "Wellbeing Wednesday" communications to all staff.
4. Assist the Head of HR and HRM with the Investors in People process, particularly relating to staff communications and wellbeing strategies.
Learning & Development
1. Create bespoke induction plans for each new starter.
2. Throughout induction day 1, ensure all relevant paperwork is obtained, and schedule runs according to plan.
3. Facilitate induction presentations.
4. Assist with planning, preparation & follow-up of internal employee training and development.
5. Assist with the planning & execution of training contract assessment days.
Additional Projects
1. Assist with annual salary benchmarking process, obtaining multiple data sources and mapping data via spreadsheet.
2. Attend maternity & paternity meetings as required. Conduct risk assessments and ensure keeping in touch check points throughout absence.
3. Create communications materials and training documents where required, for example for the roll out of a new HR system.
4. Have active involvement in social, charity and welfare programmes/initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
You will:
1. Have previous experience in a HR advisory role, preferably in professional services.
2. Be CIPD Level 5 qualified or have equivalent experience.
3. Have up to date knowledge of UK employment law.
4. Have experience working with senior stakeholders.
5. Be able to manage your own employee relations caseload.
6. Have a continuous improvement focus.
7. Have experience managing conduct and capability issues up to and including dismissal.
8. Be a confident communicator.
9. Be experienced working with HRIS and payroll services.
