Main duties of the job

We are currently recruiting to a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist position in the South Kent CAMHS Community Team, based at Cherry Tree House. This is a replacement, substantive, full-time post - 10 PAs with 7.5 PA DCC and 2.5 SPA.
You will join another full-time CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist and a full-time Specialty Doctor within the service, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.
Job responsibilities
You will be expected to:
* Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Folkestone and Dover.
* Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
* Work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.
* Participate in the on-call rota (frequency is currently 1:14, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement).
* Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.
* Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* CCT or equivalent
* Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
* Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
* Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
Clinical Experience
* Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders under children including neurodevelopment disorders.
* Experience in managing patients from different cultural backgrounds.
Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidence-based management interventions.
* Up to date knowledge of recent DH documentation and NICE Guidelines.
Clinical Skills
* Excellent clinical skills
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
