Purpose of the role
You will contribute to the delivery of various full-time programmes which are developed in partnership with renowned institutions such as Canterbury Christ Church University, Bath Spa University, St Mary's University Twickenham London, and others.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Provide high quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes within a higher education environment.
* Tutor students, providing tailored support to help them achieve their academic goals and progress positively.
* Contribute actively to the development and continuous improvement of courses, liaising effectively with staff and students. For progression to Band B, the candidate will be required to take on two module leadership roles, ensuring these are undertaken across different cycles to promote wider programme involvement.
* Contribute to the production of module/unit specific schemes of work.
* Mark assessments appropriately in accordance with the assignment brief and marking criteria.
* Implement measures to understand students' learning needs.
* Support students with timely formative feedback as required by each programme specification.
* Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed timeframe set by the assessment team.
* Ensure compliance with programme expectations and guidelines.
* Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with all students and staff.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Master's degree in the relevant discipline.
* PhD in the relevant field (or working towards one).
* Teaching qualifications such as PGCHE and Fellowship of the Advance HE.
* Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience within higher education (Band A) and at least 2 years of institutional teaching experience for progression (Band B).
* Proficiency in the use of Blackboard/VLEs, MS Teams and Zoom.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential, with candidates required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of CPD focused on teaching and curriculum development.
* Candidates must demonstrate sharing best practices in teaching and research within their discipline, contributing to the academic environment.
Desirable:
* Experience of working in the relevant industry.
* Research publications in the relevant discipline.
