Key Responsibilities: As a Linux Software Support Engineer, you will be at the forefront of incident management, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently and that all service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. You will also be responsible for the full monitoring of system metrics and ensuring the stability of thousands of devices in the field. Incident Management: You will take ownership of the incident management process, proactively working to resolve customer issues and monitor service metrics across the server infrastructure. You'll collaborate with software teams, the hardware team, suppliers, and vendors to maintain optimal service performance. Customer Issue Resolution: As the second point of contact for customer support, you'll be involved in the triaging of tickets, identifying and troubleshooting issues related to sensors, gateways, and cellular connections, ensuring timely resolution. Leadership: You will also have the opportunity to mentor and manage a non-technical support person, helping them develop their skills and contribute to the team's success. Technical Skills Required: Linux Software Skills: You must be proficient in Linux software with hands-on experience using the Linux terminal. Your Linux skills should include SSH connections, basic diagnostics, and knowledge of Linux infrastructure and Linux admin tasks such as stopping and starting services and managing files. IP Networking Skills: You'll work with cellular providers, running ping tests and trace routes to gauge system health. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking are essential in identifying and investigating system issues. RF & Low Power Radio: If you have any experience with RF (radio frequency) or low power radio, that's a big plus You'll be speaking to engineers on-site to run signal tests, check diagnostic systems, and understand data rates and transmit power.
