Tucked away in South Ruislip, Brackenbridge House is a haven where nature’s beauty meets the warmth of home. Spread across one and a half acres of enchanting gardens, this residence offers both the buzz of London’s attractions and the tranquility of the Berkshire countryside. With room for 36 residents, Brackenbridge isn’t just about care—it’s about wine evenings under the stars, dance sessions that spark joy, and the simple pleasure of a stroll through blossoming pathways. Responsibilities:
* Maintaining the building and equipment.
* Carrying out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe (e.g., Loler testing).
* Monitoring and responding to the fire alarm call, boilers, and lift.
* Making effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair.
* Conducting banking and purchasing small items for the home.
* Maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors, including decoration and repair, minor plumbing works, and maintaining the garden areas.
* Maintaining good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues at the House.
* Maintaining awareness of the Home’s policies and procedures, especially the Fire Policy.
* Participating in training and development as an individual and as part of the team.
* Getting involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
* Maintaining client and business confidentiality at all times.
* Controlling and ordering stock and accepting and checking deliveries.
* Maintaining an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
* Observing and maintaining high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues, and residents.
* Carrying out any additional duties as requested.
* Undertaking any additional training and development programmes the Home may consider appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home.
* Reviewing on a regular basis the job description for your post and agreeing on any changes.
Essential Skills:
* Ideal candidate should have plumbing skills/experience.
