As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be an integral part of the culinary team, supporting the smooth running of the kitchen operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, vibrant environment and gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
2. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and cooking areas to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
3. Assist with food storage, stock rotation, and inventory control to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
4. Ensure all food items are stored at the correct temperatures, maintaining food safety guidelines.
5. Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they are visually appealing.
6. Support the chefs with ingredient preparation, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
7. Assist with the cleaning of dishes, cutlery, and kitchenware as required.
8. Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
9. Adhere to company policies and maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards customers and colleagues.
10. Assist with any other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Requirements:
11. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a busy kitchen environment.
12. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
13. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
14. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
15. Flexibility to work varying shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
16. A positive and proactive attitude towards work.
