My client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of skid-mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas, renewables, chemicals, and energy/power generation industries.
They are currently in need of a QHSE Manager to join their team in Stonehouse.
Responsibilities:
1. The QHSE Manager is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System and ISO9001:2015 accreditation for Roots Systems. They will ensure that the Company complies with all regulatory requirements and that a good Health and Safety culture is adhered to throughout the company.
2. Managing and monitoring the QHSE performance of the company and assure compliance to Health and Safety legislation.
3. Ensuring that all in-process inspection, documentation and testing activities are completed in an accurate manner and that all material received into and despatched from the company have been confirmed to meet required specifications.
4. Monitoring and advising on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
5. Responsibility for Company’s QMS processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its ISO9001 accreditation, e.g. documentation, records, internal audits, CAPA, customer satisfaction, etc.
6. Liaising with customers and supply chain, regarding QHSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
7. Responsibility for liaising with third party inspections/auditors regarding company accreditation and compliance matters, e.g. HSE, Local Authority, Fire Services, Insurance, ISO accreditation, etc.
8. Managing records of Lifting Equipment and machinery inspected by Zurich and maintenance related to regulatory requirements.
9. Updating quality objectives and KPI measures on a quarterly basis.
10. Chairing H&S/Business Improvement Committee to facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting with implementing improvements.
11. Conducting monthly H&S site inspections and report to area owners.
12. Ensuring that investigations and reports on failed/defective components are carried out in line with policies and procedures in a timely manner.
13. Carrying out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
14. Managing and monitoring emergency procedures: Fire, signage, PPE, COSHH control, accident investigation and reporting, etc.
15. Reviewing training and competency with Team Leaders and assisting in arranging training where required.
16. Reporting on Company’s QHSE performance to the leadership team and statutory authorities as and when required.
17. Keeping track of lessons learned and sharing those lessons with team members.
18. Conducting QHSE inductions and training courses using internal and external resources when required.
19. Acting as subject matter expert for QHSE matters.
20. Resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely fashion.
21. Offering QHSE consultancy to the Company’s subsidiaries and affiliates when required.
Skills:
1. For this role candidates will need to be educated to HNC/D or degree level. You will have a Quality Assurance qualification from an accredited body ie CQI Certificate or demonstrable experience of working in a similar role and a NEBOSH or similar qualification. An ISO9001:2015 auditor qualification and HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage.
2. Candidates will be experienced in managing and implementing Quality Management and H&S Systems. They should also have experience of working in a Quality Inspection role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience of Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm/CMM.
3. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance for themselves and for others. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
