The Role
Imperial Brands, a forward-thinking and inclusive company supported by 25,000 dedicated employees, is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Group Finance team in Bristol.
In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of operational treasury accounting and reporting for our key financing entities, Imperial Brands Finance Plc and Imperial Brands Enterprise Finance Limited. We are looking for someone who can drive process improvements, particularly in spreadsheet usage, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting processes. Principal Accountabilities
* Deliver operational treasury accounting and reporting, and collaborate with senior accounting colleagues and auditors on areas of judgement.
* Assist in maintaining and developing treasury accounting processes and policies, and support the finance community in applying relevant accounting policies.
* Provide ad-hoc treasury analysis, including the impact of changes to the Group’s structure, loan arrangements, financial instruments, and hedging strategies.
* Contribute to improving Group financial reporting and disclosures for internal management and external statutory reporting.
* Support senior management with technical and judgemental accounting areas, including preparing technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee.
* Administer intragroup loan changes, support internal finance teams with funding requirements, and maintain a strong financial control framework.
Skills and Experience Required
* Qualified accountant
* High level of numeracy and ability to understand financial instrument valuations, accounting processes, foreign exchange, interest rate risk, and associated statutory reporting requirements.
* Technically astute with experience in accounting and reporting for company financial statements.
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, and understanding of period-end close processes in a Group context.
* Strong organisation and project management skills, excellent report writing skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, V-Lookups, multiple linked spreadsheets).
* Commitment to financial controls, attention to detail, drive and enthusiasm for meeting deadlines, willingness to challenge norms, and flexibility to work with team members on shared goals.
