The project: In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. For our clients in the sector, this means delivering complex projects and programmes delivering low-carbon technologies and infrastructure safely, efficiently, and at pace.
Enabling a whole system approach to decarbonising energy is currently constrained by the capacity of, and connection to, the electricity network. This role will work at the forefront of this, contributing to the delivery of construction projects connecting new generation and storage into the grid. Working closely with client and contractor teams, you will build close working relationships to ensure that projects are progressing in accordance with contracted timescales and requirements.

You'll be responsible for:
* Assisting with developing detailed plans taking full cognisance of logistics/site/project constraints.
* Interfacing with project team, contributing to the production of the weekly progress report to the project team and understanding functional obligations under the form of contract.
* Reviewing and capturing productivity to measure progress.
* Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Incorporating sustainable design and procurement processes within integrated programmes.
* Challenging and ensuring health and safety through programme integration.
* Assisting, establishing, and overseeing project work plans and deadlines.
* Undertaking tasks required to fulfil the requirements of the project/assignment.
* Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You'll need to have:
* Basic understanding in built environment and with projects.
* Basic understanding of different procurement routes and types and forms of contract.
* Basic competency to produce basic programmes and sequence plans with minimal supervision.
* Basic software user.
* Able to respond to all client/stakeholder requests effectively and sensitively.
* Ability to communicate & present to project team on programme drivers, goals & issues.
* Working towards professional qualification (e.g. CIOB, APM, PMI).
* Other relevant qualifications specific to local requirements.
You'll also have:
* Understanding of contract administration.
* Exposure to the principles or use of different types of contracts.
* Effective decision-making skills.
* Ability to challenge constructively.
* Working towards construction skills qualifications.
* General understanding of APM principles.
