Hours: 9am – 5:30pm, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday
Rate of Pay: £27 - £37 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role:
Are you an experienced clinical pharmacist looking to expand your career into the mental health field? We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7/8a Mental Health Pharmacist to join a supportive pharmacy NHS Hospital team in Essex.
While mental health experience is not required, the team are looking for a pharmacist with hospital ward experience who is eager to develop their skills within mental health care. You will receive full training and support to help you transition into this specialist area. This is a great opportunity to further your career while contributing to the delivery of excellent care to patients on mental health wards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical pharmacy support for mental health wards.
2. Medicines reconciliation and drug chart screening.
3. Provide medication advice and support to patients on the wards.
4. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize medication use in mental health patients.
5. Support pharmacy technicians and ATO staff with medication reviews and checking duties.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Band 7/8a level pharmacist with previous hospital ward experience.
2. Mental health experience is not essential—the team will provide comprehensive training to develop your skills in this area.
3. Strong communication skills with a passion for high-quality patient care.
4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
