Job title: Conference Services Assistant
Responsible to: Deputy General Manager/ Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Conference Aston Hotel
Purpose
1. To service client meeting rooms, assisting with working lunches, formal and informal buffets.
2. Consistently maintaining a high standard of service and presentation of teas, coffees, snacks, working lunches, buffets, and formal functions.
3. Support the conference operation and the Food & Beverage department.
4. Assist with room layout changes, mobile wall moving, and movement of large/heavy items.
5. Support the catering department with deliveries and catering events in conference rooms.
6. Ensure the refreshment lounge areas are serviced and maintained to a high standard.
Food and service
1. Consistently present correctly laid out tables and trays as per client specifications.
2. Service rooms in a timely manner.
3. Ensure crockery and cutlery are clean and highly polished.
4. Serve food in the most appropriate way as detailed by the client.
5. Liaise and communicate with the Restaurant Manager to enable efficient and effective running of hospitality service.
6. Willing to undertake any training to enhance the role as necessary.
7. Address all site and client personnel appropriately.
8. Wear the full correct Company uniform in a clean and tidy fashion.
9. May be required to cover evening functions on an as-needed basis.
Administration and policy
1. Ensure the hospitality kitchen and storage area are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
2. Ensure correct stock rotation and food storage procedures.
3. Take temperatures of equipment and/or food and record where required.
4. Complete allocated cleaning duties to the required standard, including equipment, walls to 6ft, floors, fixtures, fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware, etc., using the correct chemicals.
5. Sign cleaning schedules to ensure all hygiene and cleaning procedures are adhered to.
6. Use the Personal Protective Equipment provided.
7. Work alone or as part of a team.
8. Assist with any other duties as required by the Unit Manager.
9. Attend any reasonable request by the Deputy General Manager and Catering Managers.
10. Report any customer complaints and take remedial action if possible.
11. Report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or other irregularities and take appropriate action.
