Title: Senior Engineer Product Data and Configuration BoM Management
Rate: £46.21 umbrella rate
Determination: Inside of IR35
Work Set Up: 2 days per week at BAE Scotstoun, 3 days remote
Contract length: 12 months
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the coordination, implementation, management, and delivery of the RCD Integrated Bill of Material (iBoM).
2. Participate in the development, deployment, and 'policing' of a shared BOM delivery solution with the customer (ISI), including setting out BOM related Digital, Data, and Cyber solution requirements, testing the developed solution, and managing the solution thereafter.
3. Collaborate in the development, delivery, and management of a revised iBOM Dataloader solution based on the current GCS solution and RCD specific requirements to ensure the effective capture of Vendor Furnished BoM information.
4. Assist in the development of applicable and appropriate metrics to measure the status and performance of the RCD BoM across both the BAES NS RCD Programme and the BAES NS / ISI BOM Interface.
Major Tasks and Activities:
1. Assist in the overall coordination of the RCD Bill of Material (BoM).
2. Participate in the definition of joint BAES NS and ISI RCD BOM composition/definition.
3. Work with the RCD Change Team to assist in the implementation of authorized changes to the RCD BOM.
4. Assist in setting out the Bill of Material, Data Management processes, and policies aligned with RCD specific requirements.
5. Assist in the development and setting out of Digital Toolset development requirements for the transfer of the RCD BOM from BAES NS to ISI.
6. Provide guidance, training, and support to applicable programme team members working with the RCD BOM and wider project guidance to ensure effective BOM Management.
7. Liaise and collaborate with the PLM CC and IM&T teams deployed to support the RCD BOM solution.
8. Assist in the development and delivery of key RCD BOM quality indicators/metrics.
Additional Key Accountabilities:
1. Assist in the technical coordination of the testing and sign-off of all RCD BOM Toolset solutions.
2. Assist in providing technical input to the RCD Product Data and Configuration Reporting Lifecycle.
Key Technical Skills:
1. An in-depth understanding of the GCS iBoM process.
2. Experience with improving the use of CAD/PLM/PDM/ERP toolsets (e.g., PTC toolsets (Windchill), Aveva ERM, etc.).
3. Understanding of product information management principles.
4. Ability to work closely with other domains to integrate the necessary controls to manage product information.
5. Experience in PLM and Data processes and systems.
6. Understanding of key systems engineering principles and integrity of information.
7. Basic project management and stakeholder management skills.
8. Knowledge of warship or large platform (System of Systems) design processes and inter-relationships and design delivery would be advantageous.
