Purpose of role and key accountabilities:
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the function of the role is to supervise and manage production operations at the Gardner Aerospace site in meeting and exceeding its customer requirements on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
Safety:
1. Work to and promote company policies, procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental standards including IS(phone number removed), 50001 and 18001, to promote a strong HS&E culture and provide a healthy and secure working environment for all.
2. Work in conjunction with the wider site team to reduce the number of accidents, near misses and environmental hazards utilizing 6S principles managing HS&E proactively and effectively.
3. Support legislative site audits and site action plans to drive improved safety standards and continuous improvement performance throughout the business.
Quality:
1. To lead and make decisions regarding any quality and engineering queries for the shift. Training will be provided where required.
2. To develop a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace, ensuring that quality standards and procedures are observed and always maintained.
3. Ensure effective feedback, 2-way communication to the shop floor for internal and external quality concerns, the efficient management of issues through SQCDP meetings and the timely resolution of issues through the deployment of robust problem-solving methodologies.
4. Quality performance working towards zero defect target by proactive quality measures and root cause analysis.
Cost:
1. Ensure that the site achieves agreed financial, operational and commercial objectives via the implementation of continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company, to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders.
2. Drive improvement in delivery performance through continuous improvement (Kaizen) measures, to exceed customer expectations and targets.
