This position will be responsible for providing the Manufacturing Engineering focus within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Team.
Salary: Circa £47,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance:
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to obtain HMG Security Check (SC), which is managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. There could also be an opportunity to undergo further security vetting to obtain DV clearance.

The opportunity:
An exciting new opportunity has become available within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Team for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.
You will have the opportunity to grow your knowledge within manufacturing as part of development into potential future opportunities.
You will also get involved in the front aspects of the design and influence the design for manufacturability, whilst also leading a small team of manufacturing engineers.
* Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
* Work alongside Producibility Technical Experts and Design authorities to develop the initial manufacturing architecture, Manufacture Inspection and Test (MIT) plans and Industrial Validation plans.
* Develop manufacturing systems and processes in response to the defined Manufacturing Architecture and Manufacturing Test & Inspection Plan.
* Creation and approval of manufacturing and test instruction documentation.
* Leading Process FMEA and process capability proving.
* Team size and capability mix optimisation for successful delivery of work packages and projects.
* Manage and report against the team's work programmes, including analysis of risk, to ensure the team delivers its accountabilities.
* Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure the area of responsibility is continually developing to improve efficiency.
* Develop, maintain and control technical interfaces to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues.
* Working alongside the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and the PM to generate robust Bids for Manufacturing.
* Delivery of NPI Programmes in accordance with business and company expectations.
* Ability to write reports and technical assessments of current and future proposals.
* Some UK and Overseas travel may be required.
What we're looking for from you:
* Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
* Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
* OR BEng in relevant Engineering Degree.
* Able to work with minimum supervision.
* Be highly motivated and enthusiastic, to create/maintain a high performing team.
