We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director / Business Development Director / MD to lead our UK sales operations. This pivotal role focuses on managing and growing key client accounts, driving business development, and ensuring the successful delivery of our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the software industry, with a proven track record in sales, business development, and client relationship management.
Key Attributes, Skills & Knowledge Requirements
* Experience: Proven track record in Sales/Commercial roles in the software/IT industry, handling negotiations, and solving challenging situations. Proven ability to sell at executive levels and craft tailored sales strategies.
* Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of software development projects and ability to understand clients’ technical needs.
* Process Knowledge: Understanding of the Lead to Cash process and stakeholder responsibilities.
* Self-Starter: A proactive individual capable of driving new business, managing client accounts, and promoting the company.
* Cultural Fit: Familiarity with the UK market, local business practices, ability to network effectively within the region, and ability to integrate into both local and international company cultures.
* Relationship Management: Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage client expectations.
* Problem Solving & Initiative: Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in similar leadership & sales roles.
Job Description
* Position: MD, UK

* Reporting to: CBO & Global Director of Sales
* Employment Type: Full-time - Hybrid home and office.
* Compensation: Fixed + Variable
This role is responsible for leading the company’s key clients and business development efforts in the UK. The candidate will drive account growth with our current clients such as News UK (The Times, The Sun, etc), BPP University, Smart Pension,..., establish strategic partnerships, and drive growth from new business. You will represent Q and the Q team in the UK, and represent your clients to the team in Croatia.
Key Responsibilities
A) Client Relationship Management (75%)
* Oversee and nurture relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying growth opportunities.
* Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive client satisfaction and retention.
* Act as the primary point of contact for client communications, negotiations, and account management.
* Conduct regular client visits and relationship-building activities, such as client dinners and entertainment events.
* Support the Business Development and Project teams in resolving issues related to contracts, payments, etc.
* Support Engineering and Delivery teams in communication and relations with clients.
* Lead client-facing activities on-site to drive upsell, including presentations and pitches.
B) Business Development (25%)
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the UK, leveraging industry networks and market insights.
* Develop and execute strategies to expand the company’s client base and market presence.
* Lead client-facing activities on-site to drive new sales, including presentations and pitches.
* Pitch and win new client business through collaboration with the broader Q team.
* Act as a brand ambassador for the company by attending meetups, networking events, conferences, and direct client meetings in London.
* Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers (KAM) during the sales process, from lead generation to nurturing relationships post-sale.
* Tailor your sales approaches to meet specific client needs, challenges, and opportunities, ultimately increasing deal closure rates.
C) Partnerships Creation
* Identify and build strategic partnerships with local and international companies to expand business opportunities.
* Establish relationships with key influencers and decision-makers in the local market.
* Proactively seek out opportunities to position the company as a market leader in software design and development.
D) Strategic Planning
* Collaborate with senior management and the Global Sales Director to develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
E) Sales Administration
* Manage all administrative tasks related to sales, including maintaining Hubspot CRM data for UK clients and following up on tasks.
* Participate in regular BizDev meetings and coordinate on-site visits with other members of the team.
F) Team Collaboration
* Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
* Take joint responsibility for the sales and marketing of Q in the UK, to build its fame and reputation.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior sales and account management staff.

* You will likely need to travel to Croatia around once per quarter, often with clients.
* You will be expected to build relationships with clients and as such will have an entertainment budget for taking clients to events and hosting Q dinners and parties.
* You will be part of the company bonus scheme with significant financial incentives in place.
