Job Summary
Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours. This position is temporary.
You will provide support to children and young people with additional support needs within St Ninian's High School.
You will be responsible for the personal care needs of pupils and, under the direction of the class/subject teacher, help pupils with specific learning activities, follow instructions, and organise their work. When required, you will provide supervision for pupils outside the classroom, such as in the playground, corridors, dining area, during PE, and on organised school trips.
You will have a pleasant, tolerant manner and a proven capacity to establish positive relationships with children and young people. Experience working with children and young people with additional support needs and an interest in their development is essential.
A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable.
PVG/Disclosure Scotland

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to confirmation of employment by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check, which will be deducted from the successful candidate's first salary payment. In specific circumstances, the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee's wages following the commencement of employment, with approval made by the HR Services Lead.
If an employee leaves before the payment is deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee's final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles requiring a PVG/Disclosure check.
