The role
Lendlease Construction is currently recruiting for a MEP Project Manager to join our public sector construction teams and work on projects up to £120m in value. The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, managing the Lendlease onsite M&E team, managing subcontractors and design consultants, and closely liaising with the onsite construction team while reporting directly to the Project Lead. During pre-construction, you will be based on a hybrid basis out of our London office.
What will you do?
* Manage and lead Lendlease Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) team or major trade package on site.
* Report to the Project Lead on functional matters, producing design reviews, method and time-related information required for tenders, management of construction, completion, and post-construction obligations.
* Review design to ensure delivery is in compliance with the Employers Requirements.
* Review design and installation drawings to ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements.
* Assist commercial team with value engineering opportunities, variations, and disputes.
* Assist team members with tender submissions and pre-construction activities as required.
* Produce design scope of works to obtain consultant fee proposals.
* Produce scope of works for M&E subcontractor tendering.
* Review all tender submissions to ensure no scope gaps with offers received.
* Coordinate with client representatives, design consultants, and subcontractors.
* Monitor and manage design within the framework of a design and construct contract.
* Manage and implement design required to be installed by subcontractors during the construction phase.
* Review design, procurement, construction, and commissioning programs.
* Chair M&E design, construction, and completion meetings as necessary.
* Chair subcontractor progress meetings and minute such meetings, reporting on site progress, programme, commercial, and technical issues.
* Maintain close liaison with the onsite construction team to ensure delivery and monitoring of the works by subcontractors and their specialists.
* Conduct onsite inspections for workmanship, compliance, and safety in relation to Employers and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure quality is consistently high and proactively identify quality issues.

* CSCS managers card holder.
* In-depth knowledge of the construction industry.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations, CDM, and ability to implement company safety policies.
* Recognize and reward safe behaviors and practices.
* Demonstrate strategic thinking and vision.
* Fully understand building services including design principles, construction techniques, commissioning, and handover requirements.
* Be an effective communicator, able to cooperate with subcontractors, consultants, and other team members to work as a cohesive team.
* Show ability to ensure delivery of work packages and improve commercial targets.
