Estates Services, Oxford Are you a skilled joiner who loves working with wood? Want to use your craft to restore and build furniture in some of Oxford’s most beautiful and historic buildings?
Location: The Malthouse, Tidmarsh Lane, Oxford OX1 1NQ and University-wide sites
Salary: £34,982 - £40,855 per annum. This role is a variable hour one (‘as required’ basis)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (until September 2025)

About the Role
As a Joiner, you’ll work both in our dedicated workshop at The Malthouse and on-site across the University’s estate. You'll craft, repair, and install high-quality joinery, using both traditional hand tools and modern machinery. This is a hands-on role where you will work both independently and collaboratively, liaising with building managers, Estates Services colleagues, and external contractors to deliver outstanding results. You will also ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements while maintaining a safe and professional working environment.
About You
1. NVQ Level 3 in Joinery or significant experience in carpentry.
2. Strong skills in woodwork, furniture making, and repairs.
3. Ability to work professionally, independently and as part of a team.
4. Experience using both hand tools and machinery.
