Your new company
Finance Manager is required by a local public sector organisation who are in a period of growth hence the addition of the Finance Manager.
Your new role
1. Complete monthly reconciliation of income, querying any anomalies.
2. Management of Finance Officers including carrying out resource planning and managing recruitment, appraisal and professional development.
3. Monitor budgets all year round, advising the Senior Finance Manager and CFO where revisions or changes are needed.
4. Prepare and produce regular monthly monitoring reports and present business reports to senior management.
5. Support the Senior Finance Manager and CFO to provide training.
6. Oversee the finance team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring money is banked, invoices are paid promptly, money owed is collected, and clear records are kept.
7. Ensure the Fixed Asset registers are up-to-date and the appropriate journals posted.
8. Prepare, review & submit VAT returns, including advising on correct VAT treatment for transactions.
9. Prepayments and accrual reconciliations.
10. Bank reconciliations.
11. Accounting for payroll.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Full right-to-work in the UK with prior finance experience in the UK.
2. Experience working within budget monitoring.
3. Public sector experience required, ideally within the NHS or Education.
