Job summary With a current establishment of over 100 staff members across all departments we are looking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Dispensary Team. You will work alongside other grades of pharmacy staff and clinical pharmacists to ensure that medications are dispensed swiftly and accurately. You will also work collaboratively with our ward-based clinical pharmacy services team to facilitate the delivery of a first-class patient focused service helping to ensure to the best possible outcomes for our patients. This post is full-time, 37.5hrs per week and your contracted hours will be worked over 5 days, including participation in the weekend, late night, and bank holiday rotas. Main duties of the job As a pharmacy assistant based within outpatient and inpatient pharmacy your duties will include Dispensing medication including unlicensed drugs, controlled drugs, cytotoxic drugs, inpatient and outpatient prescriptions and stock/over-labelled items in accordance with the agreed safe systems of work practice. Rotation within the pharmacy department of the Trust including outpatient and inpatient pharmacy areas. Dispensing monitored dosage systems Supporting Trust initiatives for the rapid discharge of patients by swiftly and accurately dispensing discharge medication Assisting in the maintenance of reasonable stock levels and the performance of the daily rolling stock takes to comply with audit requirements. Answering telephone and face to face queries of a routine or technical nature from a wide range of staff groups, patients and carers, and refer appropriate queries to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary. Liaising with various members of the pharmacy team and ward staff when solving supply problems and ensuring the best service to patients. Patient counselling in accordance with pharmacy procedures within own limitations.
