Job Description
As a Cost Engineer/Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects.
Your key duties include:
* Overseeing and executing commercial activities as determined by the Regional Commercial & Site Management.
* Undertaking various functions,, ranging from administrative support to assuming the role of Commercial Lead. Your specific tasks will be determined by the Regional Commercial & Site Management.
* Providing focused support on commercial and costing matters.
* Operating in a site based role in Teesside, as directed by the Regional Commercial Manager.
The Successful Applicant
Ideally you will have:
* A BSc in Quantity Surveying or an HND in Quantity Surveying (or another relevant degree, depending on experience).
* Experience working in contracting commercial departments is preferred.
* Candidates should have a working knowledge of relevant Construction and Engineering Industry conditions of contract.
* Proficiency in using the most recent version of Microsoft Office applications relevant to the role is essential.
* Familiarity with reading and extracting data from at least one Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
* Treat all stakeholders (both internal and external) with respect and consideration in all company activities.
* Be adept at valuing interim work, final accounts, variations, and claims, understanding their impact on time, cost, and revenue.
* Vigorously inspect and control the quality of work performed by commercial teams and other teams involved in commercial functions.
* Be an effective and confident communicator with colleagues and stakeholders.
