Job description: Role: AML Manager Department: RIMI AML Location: Jersey Contract Type: Permanent Reporting to: Michelle Hayden The Role To assist the MLCO/MLRO with the oversight and delivery of the effective systems and controls, within RIMI, to detect and protect against Financial Crime, Sanctions and Proliferation Financing. To assist with the review of onboarding of new accounts, high-risk reviews and trigger events, overnight screening, portfolio transactional and payment monitoring and testing the effectiveness of the controls. To have oversight of the AML Administrator, supporting them with development and setting them AML tasks. To provide cover for the MLRO/MLCO and the AML Manager in their absence. To provide regular management information for analysis and presentation to RISKCO, JEXCO and RIMI Board, or upon request from the MLCO/MLRO. To assist the MLCO with the Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan and testing of RIMI systems and controls and provide data for analysis. To act as Deputy MLRO, dealing with internal reports, external SARS, internal queries and liaison between JFSC and JFIU and support the role of the MLRO. Outcomes of the Role Fulfil a subject matter expert (SME) role for the AML function, as agreed with the MLRO/MLCO and be part of the Senior Management Function. Assist the MLRO/MLCO with overseeing the firms systems and controls for compliance with the firms anti-money laundering, terrorist/proliferation financing, sanctions, bribery, tax evasion and financial crime policies and procedures. To assist with the Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Plan, by testing systems and controls and providing management information to the MLCO as required. Monitor the actions from the testing to ensure completion in a timely manner and deal with any remediate actions for the AML Team. To assist the MLRO/MLCO with internal/external audit remediation and reporting. To act as Deputy MLRO and identify potential suspicious activity and where requested, take responsibility for the initial investigation of suspicious activity reports, compiling full reports and ensuring all confirmed findings are reported to the MLRO and logged accordingly. To cover the MLRO/MLCO role as described in their job description when the MLRO/MLCO is not available. Including liaising with the JFSC/JFCU/JFIU and any other third parties and dealing with legal/regulatory notices. Assist in the identification, analysis and implementation of changes driven by legal and regulatory change, industry guidance or best practice. Co-operate with law enforcement/regulatory officers by providing accurate records within a legal framework, ensuring all their enquiries are dealt with within compliance and strict timescales. Assist in the creation and delivery of the AML training programme including its content and implementation. Manage training attendance and provide regular reporting to the MLRO. Provide oversight of the PEP and Sanctions screening software including oversight of its results. Investigate and record PEP and Sanction matches in preparation for MLRO sign off. Act as the PEP Manager, conducting annual reviews and managing the PEP register. Complete transaction monitoring and overnight screening of client database and conduct investigations. In collaboration with the MLRO/MLCO, identify potential gaps across the Group and compile reports, ensuring all confirmed findings are reported to the MLRO/MLCO. Perform deep dive analysis of high-risk clients, PEPs and any other client type referred to the team, report findings and escalate where necessary. Participate in and execute projects and change initiatives related to Financial Crime, as directed by the MLRO/MLCO. This includes RIMI projects where Financial Crime risks need to be considered. Oversee, direct and quality assure work activities of the AML Analysts, in the absence of the MLRO/MLCO. Work with the MLRO/MLCO to enhance the end-to-end processes and controls to ensure the AML Team is always operating in the most efficient manner. Escalate AML/Sanction regulation breaches as appropriate Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a good relationship with the business directly, and through the teams activities. Maintain an up to date knowledge of AML regulation, through appropriate qualifications and attendance at industry seminars and conferences.
