Why This Role Matters
As our Pension Payroll & Operations Manager, you’ll be the superhero behind the scenes, ensuring our members get their hard-earned pensions on time, every time. You’ll lead an amazing team, make complex processes run like clockwork, and keep everything compliant, secure, accurate and efficient as our member base and withdrawal transactions quickly grow. Plus, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we do things as we grow and evolve.
What You’ll Do
* Lead pension drawdown operations: Managing withdrawal processes, authorise payments, and collaborate with Finance to keep accounts reconciled.
* Oversee and run cash operations across the broader operations group.
* Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with UK pension regulations, tax laws, and GDPR, embedding them into Penfold’s processes.
* Inspire Your Team: Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
* Streamline Processes: Optimise workflows and systems, collaborating with our tech teams to deliver a seamless experience for members.
* Be a Member Champion: Handle pension-related queries with professionalism, supporting our reputation for outstanding service.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: Proven expertise in pension payroll management within the UK, with a solid track record of accuracy and efficiency. Experience in fintech or startups is a bonus.
* Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of UK pension schemes, payroll systems (experience with Staffology payroll is a plus), operational processes, and compliance requirements.
* Skills: Exceptional proficiency in advanced spreadsheets, strong problem-solving abilities, and outstanding communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
* Mindset: Highly detail-oriented, process-driven, proactive, and focused on implementing effective controls, with a passion for delivering exceptional results.
* Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, inspiring, empowering, and supporting team members to achieve their full potential.
