Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water Sector
Our client, a specialist engineering contractor with a strong track record in delivering water sector projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland.
About the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide expert advice on contract conditions for various water sector projects. You will liaise with clients and external stakeholders on commercial matters, including contract variations, claims, and payments.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monthly Cost Value Reconciliations to maintain accurate financial control.
Maximising valuations and ensuring timely certification and payment.
Managing contract variations efficiently.
Preparing cost and value forecasts across all trades.
Collaborating with operational teams to secure labour, materials, and subcontractors to complete projects on time and within budget.
Monitoring project progress and issuing required contract notices within set timescales.
Reviewing quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and securing the most competitive bids.
Preparing Final Accounts and managing subcontractor payments.
Effectively managing subcontractor accounts to enhance contract performance.
Skills & Experience Required:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Experience in water sector projects (desirable).
Strong NEC contract experience with a background in managing complex contracts.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a methodical approach to work.
