Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals’ mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our team in North Yorkshire.
Salary
This position is full time and you will receive a salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience.
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
1. Act as clinical lead across an area in North Yorkshire.
2. Work with courts and probation to increase MHTR/CSTR as a disposal for those in contact with the criminal justice system.
3. Work in partnership with The Police, The National Probation Service, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, Drug and Alcohol Support Services, and the wider Liaison and Diversion Services.
4. Lead a therapeutic team which has the primary goal of improving health care outcomes and reducing reoffending for those who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
5. Deliver treatment through a national descriptive MHTR pathway, providing brief psychological interventions for difficulties such as low mood and anxiety, within a relatively complex population. This includes service-users with significant trauma histories, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental conditions, and those who have attracted a diagnosis of personality disorder.
6. Develop evidence-based clinical interventions bespoke to individual’s needs, oversee service evaluation projects, supervise junior staff, and work closely with probation officers, who act as the lead professional for the case and take part in post-sentence case management meetings.

Qualifications and skills required:
* Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline i.e., HCPC/BPS.
* Qualified Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist.
* Experience working with psychological trauma from diverse backgrounds.
* Experience of working with adult mental health services or related areas.
* Knowledge of evidenced-based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress.
