Working with minimal supervision, the role is primarily to look after all aspects of the purchase ledger. Working as part of a small, busy team, the Purchase Ledger Clerk will work closely with the Assistant Management Accountant, other people in the business and suppliers, to ensure costs are accurately recorded and invoices are paid within agreed terms. This role will also involve occasionally supporting other members of the Finance team in month-end and audit work. Our Role • Processing UK purchase ledger invoices with accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and entering data into the Esker purchase ledger system. • Reconciling supplier statements. • Communicating with vendors, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, resolve invoice discrepancies, and or obtain missing documents. Addressing and resolving escalated issues in a timely manner. • Matching invoices to Purchase Orders. • Checking coding on invoices and, where necessary, agreeing changes. • Setting new suppliers up on SAP in accordance with the supplier on-boarding process. • Entering invoices for the Asia business onto SAP. • Providing help and support as requested during audits. • Ensuring inter-company balances are agreed at month-end. • Processing employee expense claims and updating company car business miles onto the Diligent sustainability software. • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job. • Performs additional duties as assigned. This is a site-based role, located in Leighton Buzzard. Commutable from Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Luton, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas What you will need to be successful. 1. Previous purchase ledger experience. 2. Confident using Excel spreadsheets. 3. Good verbal, written and numeracy skills, with great attention to detail.
