Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to work in our busy Pharmacy department on the Ealing Hospital site. The role is working in stores and satellite pharmacy department.
As part of this role, you will be working alongside our clinical pharmacists and medicine management pharmacy technicians to ensure patient’s timely access to medicines throughout their admission and discharge. You will also be working in our pharmacy stores and distribution department to ensure medicines are received and issued to clinical areas.
This rewarding role will provide you an opportunity to interact with patients, nurses and doctors as well as external healthcare professionals to ensure that the best standard of pharmaceutical care is available to patients in our hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a friendly and approachable personality, be willing to work as part of a team and committed to providing the best possible service for patients.
The department actively promotes development, education and training. To apply you will need NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy services qualification, good GCSE's or equivalent and good IT skills.

Education and Qualification
* NVQ (QCF) level 2 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent Pharmacy Assistant certificate.
* Good standard of education, GCSE or equivalent. Grade A-C or 9-5 in both mathematics and English.
* Medicine optimisation course for pharmacy assistant.
Knowledge and experience
* Pharmacy experience.
* Knowledge of IT packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Hospital pharmacy experience.
* Working in satellite pharmacy.

* Able to work as part of a team.
