The Communications Director will lead the Comms team consisting of an Events Manager, Communications Manager and Copywriter. The primary purpose of this role is to inspire and engage both external and internal audiences through clear, consistent, and compelling story telling – raising the awareness and reputation profile of the company. Leading strategic campaigns whilst connecting our people to the company purpose and business priorities through effective communication strategies is at the heart of this role. Although experience within the Insurance industry would be beneficial, it’s not essential for the role, providing you have worked in FMCG Marketing or a similar type of corporate business. Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Engage, motivate, coach and develop your team, ensuring all have active PDPs and regular development check ins Be the strategic lead in the brand positioning work, including the ToV and Audience projects Support CMO building out 5 Year EU & UK Marketing Strategy to deliver the EU & UK Business Objectives Lead building the business case for required investment to deliver 5 year Business Objectives Support CMO on creation of a clear and universal Comms Platform bringing to life Lockton’s USP in a premium, compelling and easy to decode way Lead the Comms Strategy to increase awareness of the company through strategic communications planning for key audiences: internal, external, clients, business influencers Candidate Profile Candidate Profile Essential Significant experience of leading strategic high performing teams and external and internal communications Understanding audience targeting for different audiences, conveying messages effectively across a range of communications channels Excellent verbal and written communications and confidence to approach and be the main point of contact for high-profile clients and partners Experience of managing small and matrix led teams Ability to plan communications activity, prioritising projects in terms of strategic importance and available resources against communication budgets Effective manager, confident leader, and outstanding team player, able to work independently to drive results to deadline Successful line management experience working strategically within a communications role Considerable experience in PR, leading on major media and external communication campaigns underpinned by strategic objectives and resulting in high-profile, targeted coverage Experience representing an organisation in a senior communications role, meeting and liaising with high profile clients / Partners Evidence of managing cross-departmental internal and external communications Experience working within a broader communications and marketing team Desired Prior experience studying or working in marketing, communications, or a related field Experience in financial services or working with a purpose-driven business is a plus About The Position Lockton’s Marketing department is an integrated team of divisional marketing, communications and design specialists who act as trusted advisors to create and implement strategic marketing plans and activity that supports business objectives.
