EQUANS is looking for a Planning Assistant to join our team in Grimsby. This is a 6 month fixed term contract with a salary of £23,.
EQUANS is North East Lincolnshire Councils long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a number of services on their behalf, including the Planning Service. This role is to provide support to the Planning Service, to ensure that it delivers a first-class service to its customers and fully contributes to delivering sustainable development and growth in North East Lincolnshire.
The post holder will be required to have previous experience providing planning support and have good customer care skills.

What will you deliver?
1. Undertake the validation of planning applications, including checking plans, forms and fees.
2. Have the opportunity to assist in the processing of minor and other planning applications from submission to recommendation, including conducting site visits, liaising with customers and preparing accurate and concise reports.
3. Have the opportunity to respond to pre-application enquiries in a timely manner.
4. Support the team in achieving contract performance targets.
5. Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of customers of the planning service.
6. Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be expected at this level in supporting the delivery of the planning function.

Who are we looking for?
18. Previous experience of working in an office environment, with frontline customer services experience.
19. Knowledge and understanding of office systems, routines and processes.
20. Knowledge and understanding of the required compliance with health and safety requirements.
21. Ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and visitors.
22. Ability to plan and organise work.
23. Experience and ability to effectively use IT including databases and Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and TEAMs.
24. Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
25. Adaptable to change and new ways of working.
26. Knowledge of working in a planning environment is desirable.
