Prepworld are looking for a dynamic and driven Deputy Hygiene Manager to join our team at Prepworld - on Nights primarily, a leading food manufacturing business. As the Deputy Hygiene Manager, you will support the Hygiene Manager in maintaining and improving hygiene standards across the site, ensuring compliance with food safety, legal, and regulatory requirements. You will lead, motivate, and develop a skilled hygiene team, oversee audits, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that ensure operational efficiency and high quality hygiene practices Main Duties: Lead and develop a multi-skilled hygiene team to maintain high performance and ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Mentor supervisors and operatives, delegating tasks and responsibilities effectively. Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans as necessary. Plan and execute hygiene schedules in alignment with business needs and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and documented on time. Manage hygiene-related costs, including labor, chemical usage, and PPE to ensure cost-effectiveness. Ensure all hygiene activities comply with company policies, food safety regulations, and legal requirements. Investigate hygiene issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. Participate in internal and external audits (BRC, customer, third-party) and assist in addressing non-conformances. Maintain and update hygiene documentation, including cleaning schedules, risk assessments, and records. Manage and generate KPIs to monitor hygiene department performance and effectiveness. Ensure microbiological sampling plans are followed for validation and verification. Collaborate with the Technical Food Safety team to address contamination risks, including microbiological and allergen-related concerns. Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety data sheets and COSHH regulations.
