Do you have experience of programme support in complex organisations? We could have the perfect role for you. As a Portfolio Support Officer, you’ll use your skills to help deliver all kinds of ICT projects to assist Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP). Join us and get an incredible insight into our world.
As part of the Portfolio/Programme Office (PMO) you’ll work with our Technology pillar to turn concepts into reality. These projects and programmes are designed to help bring improvements and new ICT capabilities to CTP – which means your work will be crucial.
We’ll be looking to you to provide a PDO (Portfolio/Programme Delivery Office) that brings best practice, advice and guidance to the ICT portfolio, as well as quality assurance. You’ll also identify risks, issues and dependencies, and track programme progress.
Day to day, you’ll be producing reports for various boards, tracking milestones, looking after documents and managing budgets, resourcing and stakeholders. As a ‘critical friend’ to key stakeholders in other business units, you’ll be an invaluable contact.
At this level, experience is key. You should have a background of programme support in ICT projects and all the tasks this entails. In other words, you are used to maintaining governance and standards across multiple projects; implementing document management systems; and communicating technical information to and from clients and suppliers alike. You’ll often be dealing with sensitive information, so discretion is a must.
In return for your skills and dedication, you can expect a competitive salary, a Civil Service pension, excellent career development and one of the most rewarding roles around.
