Business Support Apprentice (Supply Chain)
UK Head Office – Manchester / 18 MONTHS FIXED TERM/ SALARY: COMPETITIVE
Job Purpose
To provide administrative support to the Supply Planning and Operations Teams.
This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Administrative Support
1. Check accuracy of shipping documents and ensure Freight Forwarders have correct documents available for clearance of goods.
2. Send ASNs (Advanced Shipping Notifications) to warehouses.
3. Book deliveries into Sage 200 and investigate stock discrepancies on Goods Received Notes.
4. Support with planning, raising, and amending Purchase Orders on Sage 200.
5. Upload shipping documents to Sage.
6. Monthly customs and duty reporting.
7. Log, check and authorise freight and warehouse invoices.
8. Assist with internal reports such as the Daily ‘Out of Stock’ and Weekly Supply Chain Reports.
9. Any ad-hoc duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Technical – proficient use of Microsoft applications – Excel, Outlook and Word.
2. Communication skills – ability to clearly and concisely communicate with suppliers and key stakeholders within the business.
3. Strong analytical and numerical skills – ability to interpret and understand complicated information and systems.
Familiarity with the following is helpful, but not essential as we’ll cover it during your apprenticeship and teach you what you need to progress:
1. Documentation – experience of dealing with shipping documentation and import procedures.
