Electrical Controls / System Engineer
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE, possibly negotiable upon experience
We are recruiting for an Electrical Control System Engineer position with our retained client IMET Alloys, whose Worldwide Headquarters are based in Livingston. This role will also primarily be based in Livingston but will include travel to Europe and the USA. It would be very beneficial if you were able to speak and converse in French, but this is not essential.
Job Purpose
Today, IMET Alloys' largest operational footprint is in the USA. However, as we expand into new and exciting ventures, we are pushing forward into expanding our global footprint with our European acquisitions. To help us achieve this, we seek to find an Electrical Systems Engineer who can provide the experience, expertise and drive required to push our new CAPEX project forward and expand our global position as an industry leader in high value revert reprocessing.
Job Activities & Principal Accountabilities
The IMET Alloys (Europe) Engineering Team seeks the acquisition of a new Electrical Systems Engineer to help with the commissioning of our new Washline Project to be deployed in France, as well as further developing our current systems in the US. Based in Livingston with a view to extended periods in France initially, we are looking for a dynamic and passionate Engineer with around 5-10 years experience in:
1. PLC
2. Logic Control
3. HMI interfacing
4. Script writing
5. System performance-monitoring tools
6. Debugging experience
With this, the ideal candidate should be able to interpret, understand and compile engineering drawings, schematics and PFDs.
Environmental
Ensure that best environmental practices are adopted by IMET Alloys European sites and be a key contributor in this effort as an IMET Alloys employee. It shall be your responsibility to positively contribute to Group-wide best practice and comply with all local, national, and international laws and regulations including the specific reporting requirements of these laws.

Ensure compliance with health and safety practices across all IMET Alloys sites. It shall be your responsibility to positively contribute to Group-wide best practices and comply with all local, national, and international laws and regulations including the specific reporting requirements of these laws.
Major Responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing the implementation of control logic to the CAPEX Washline Project.
2. Electrical Systems / Controls lead in commissioning Washline Project, together with Engineering, Quality and Operations in providing a state-of-the-art process.
3. Managing time and resources effectively to achieve the desired results.
4. Reporting directly to the Global Engineering and Maintenance manager.
5. Communicate clearly and effectively, responding in a timely manner to e-mails and telephone calls from colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
6. Liaise with internal and external suppliers and contacts.
7. Implementation of new policies and procedures as required.
8. Have an active role in occupational safety and health of employees enforcing safe working practices and the use of personal protective equipment.
Qualification Requirements
Degree in Electrical Control / Systems Engineering (or equivalent). Incorporated or Chartered engineer in Electrical Control / Systems Engineering (or equivalent) (desired but not essential).
Required Training / Experience
1. Minimum 5-10 years experience in similar electrical control / systems engineering.
2. Extensive experience in PLC programming, Logic Control, HMI Interfacing Software, Script Writing, and debugging.
3. Siemens and Allen Bradley control systems experience desirable.
4. Detailed knowledge of acceptance testing/system level testing.
5. Working knowledge of systems schematics.
6. Fluent in English and French (spoken and written) (desired but not essential).
7. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
8. Positive and hands-on approach to all tasks, led with minimum supervision.
9. Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results working with both internal and external suppliers and contacts.
