The post holder will work autonomously and as part of a team, to provide a full and comprehensive PA service to Consultant Paediatrician(s) and/or other medical staff. The role will cover all aspects of secretarial, administrative and organisational support.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a full administrative and secretarial service to Consultant(s)/other medical staff.
* Responsible for producing high quality, accurate text using equipment provided in accordance with defined timescales.
* Compose routine self-generated correspondence, when appropriate.
* Act as first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries, screening calls and liaising appropriately.
* Access various information systems for administrative details and update administrative notes when necessary.
* Prepare agendas, take minutes and distribute notes of meetings, including typing up group discussions and interviews as necessary and recording and following up actions as required.
* Maintain diary of medical staff as required, booking appointments and meetings on own initiative when necessary.
* Processing prescription requests/changes and liaising with GPs, Consultants and parents regarding this.
* Involvement in the recruitment/interview process of secretarial/clerical staff as required.
* Training and supervising new staff, offering guidance and support.
* Sort and prioritise all incoming mail and e-mail, distributing as appropriate and in a timely manner.
