Hangar 13 is an internal 2K development studio that creates influential AAA video game experiences across all major platforms. The studio has three locations around the world: Brighton (UK), Brno & Prague (Czech Republic), working collaboratively as one team. What We Need
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Games Industry professional to lead and manage game development across the studio. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the gaming industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating engaging and innovative gaming experiences. As Senior Director of Game Development, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire game development process, from concept to release, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will oversee the studio’s key development disciplines, setting goals and expectations across Design, Art, Audio, Technology, Cinematics and Mocap.
Providing leadership for talented and experienced discipline directors, you will be experienced in leading senior people to ensure that all aspects of our games are aligned with the company's vision and goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and for fostering a creative and collaborative work environment. You will have a proven track record of successful game development and a passion for titles that offer a cinematic and narrative driven experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Oversee the game development process from concept to release.
* Lead, manage and guide senior members of staff across all key disciplines.
* Work with Executive Producers to ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with the company's vision and goals.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the studio benefits from those insights.
* In conjunction with other members of the ELT, foster a creative and collaborative work environment.
* Develop and implement project and resource plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Monitor and report on project progress and performance.
* Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success.
* Build strong relationships with our publisher and parent company, 2K, to ensure a powerful partnership.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
* Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
* Manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
* Coordinate and lead meetings and presentations.
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
* Develop and maintain project documentation and records.
* Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve the development process.
* Ensure the quality and consistency of all game content.
* Drive innovation and creativity in game design and development.
