My Client has a year-round visitor attraction and is home to famous Cornish branded products. Since the company was founded, it has grown exponentially. With a multi-faceted production facility specializing in a range of market-leading products, this business is thriving and has a very exciting future ahead.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead their Estates team. If successful in this role, you will have overall responsibility for the group's assets - including buildings, grounds, and all vehicles. This will include a planned, preventative, and emergency system for all properties ensuring safe, profitable, and well-maintained grounds, farm animals, and other areas of the Estate. You will need to manage a diverse team as well as deliver on expectations.
Salary: up to £50,000.00 depending on experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Managing refurbishment, renovations, and ongoing improvement projects
2. Ensure proactive building maintenance and management plans are in place to maintain all buildings in superb condition
3. Oversee the maintenance of all Company vehicles - including the collection of classic cars
4. Electrical system management and compliance across the Estate - liaising with contractors as required
5. Ensure the grounds are managed and presented in an appropriate way ensuring exceptional brand experience
6. Take accountability for reviewing, updating and embedding policies, standard operating procedures and risk assessments, with a view towards eradicating preventable incidents
7. Making sure all facilities meet relevant health and safety standards, including routine servicing of all relevant items (boilers, kitchen equipment, fire extinguishers, PAT testing, etc.)
8. Ensure all operations are completed with regards to health and safety requirements
9. Managing cleaning, waste disposal, catering, parking, and security
10. Managing budgets
11. Negotiating with contractors and suppliers
12. Plan for future developments in line with business strategy
13. Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies
14. Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement
15. Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences
16. Ensure the farm animal welfare is of excellent standard, and the animal strategy is managed ensuring we have the right animals (and babies) at the right time of year
17. Ensure the farm animals and enclosures are maintained, rotated, and developed to give an exceptional brand experience

1. Tourist attraction / Estate management / Site foreman experience
2. Supervision and Management responsibility

7. Report writing and presentation skills
Education / Qualification / Skills Required:
1. Relevant Health & Safety qualification such as ISOH, NEBOSH
2. Able to prioritize, manage deadlines, and make decisions
3. Good problem-solving skills, calm quick clear decisions
4. Flexible approach
5. Self-confident, self-reliant, and decisive
6. Able to lead and motivate staff
7. Good communication skills
8. Broad technical knowledge and understanding of scheduling/control problems
9. Comfortable working under pressure
10. Good with figures and information technology
