SHE ADVISOR
We are looking for an experienced SHE ADVISOR for a reputable Mechanical and Engineering company.
The role will cover the South Coast, Portsmouth, Southampton, and Chichester.
Excellent time to join a progressive company and have the opportunity to help their Business Units & Projects in their SHE objectives of getting everyone home safe.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring SHE performance at Regional and Depot level.
2. Reporting to Operational Management on good performance/best practice as well as deficiencies and areas of weakness identified.
3. Provision of key support regarding the development and implementation of improvement actions, initiatives, and plans.
4. Assisting in the management of the company's environmental responsibilities in compliance with environmental requirements.
5. Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses and sharing lessons learned.
6. Reviewing documentation for appropriate health & safety content (RAMS, CPPs, etc).
7. Visiting our sites and advising site management on day-to-day health & safety matters.
8. Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety Legislation/CDM Regs/Client's standards.
9. Promoting and encouraging best practice.
10. Delivering toolbox talks on health, safety, and well-being themes.
11. Health and well-being promotional campaigns.
12. Being a key stakeholder to our Project Management Teams in ensuring that all SHE risks are identified and managed throughout all phases of project development, construction, and maintenance.
Experience and Skills Needed:
1. Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
2. Passionate about the Health & Safety Profession.
3. Experience, knowledge, and understanding of the application of SHE management principles and best practices within an operational environment.
4. Proven track record of engaging effectively with stakeholders in SHE matters and requirements.
5. Experience of developing and improving processes, and driving SHE performance.
6. Background in Construction, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or a DNO background.
7. Willingness to challenge unsatisfactory conditions or breaches.
8. Excellent IT skills with experience in using Teams, Excel, and Databases.
9. Professional approach, self-organized, and motivated to positively influence stakeholders.
10. Full UK driving licence is essential due to the level of mobility required.
11. Associate/Tech/Grad Member of IOSH and IEMA membership is desirable.
