About us
Roundwood Primary is a rural school set in two villages just north of Buckingham. Our infant site is in Tingewick and the junior site is based in Gawcott. We are a single form entry school and are delighted to play an important part in the life of both villages. Both schools are welcoming and we offer a high level of nurture and education. Our vision is to inspire, challenge, and grow the children’s minds in the time they are with us.
About the role
The role will be to start in January 2025 and work as a job share. We are willing to offer either a KS1 or EYFS post to attract the best candidate we can find. The role is flexible and can be 2 days, 2.5 days, or 3 days depending on individual circumstances.
In addition to fulfilling the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document and meeting the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards, the teacher, under the direction of the SLT, will take joint responsibility in:
1. High-quality teaching and assessment
2. Effective use of resources and environment
3. Excellent standards of learning and achievement for all
4. Effective leadership of teaching assistants to ensure high standards by all
5. Providing emotional nourishment for all pupils – ensuring a child-centric approach
About you
* Expert knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and handbook / The Key Stage 1 curriculum
* Understanding of high-quality teaching and learning strategies in the EYFS/KS1, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve
* Awareness of local and national organisations that can support delivering the EYFS
* Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
* Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
* Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
* Good IT skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
