This exciting mechanical technician role would suit a qualified mechanical maintenance engineer with good experience of PPM, maintenance, service, and repair of plant equipment related to the installed electrical equipment on site within production engineering, process plant, process engineering, or live site industries. Mechanical maintenance technicians with experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil and gas, water, utilities, nuclear, hazardous live sites, and refinery process plant industries would be of distinct interest.
The ideal Mechanical Technician will have the following skills and experience:
1. Good mechanical maintenance experience – worked as a mechanical engineer, mechanical technician, electro-mechanical technician, electro-mechanical engineer roles or similar.
2. Engineering qualifications – apprenticeship trained, NVQ level 3, ONC in Mechanical, HNC Mechanical, or electro-mechanical qualifications.
3. Maintenance experience within the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil and gas, water, utilities, nuclear, hazardous live sites, and refinery process plant, plant breakdowns or similar live/process plants.
4. Good hands-on experience of PPM, planned maintenance, routine maintenance, and non-routine maintenance with good knowledge of valves, pumps, motors, compressors, etc.
5. Full UK driving licence and own vehicle to get to remote site daily (site-based role).
6. Full eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship both now or in future.
7. Mechanical ATEX and/or PUWER qualifications and experience (desirable).
Some key responsibilities of this electro-mechanical technician role include:
1. Identify, schedule, carry out, and record routine and non-routine maintenance repairs.
2. Routine servicing of pumps, valves, motors, air compressors, gas compressors, gas turbines, pipeline corrosion.
3. Ensuring plant services are in good working order and comply with safe working practices.
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager, the purpose of this Mechanical maintenance technician role is to carry out corrective (non-routine) and preventative (routine) mechanical and electro-mechanical maintenance, modifications, and assisting operations at the production facilities.
