Gilbert Meher is partnered with a leading private mental health provider which is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their dedicated team at a specialist service in South Norfolk. About the Service
This service provides specialist inpatient care for adults with learning disabilities, who may also have mental health conditions, challenging behaviours, or offending histories. The site includes low secure beds and a newly launched locked rehabilitation unit, both designed to promote recovery and patient autonomy within a safe and structured environment. The service is consistently praised by external stakeholders for its person-centred approach, clinical excellence, and the commitment of its multidisciplinary team.
The Role
As the Consultant Psychiatrist and Responsible Clinician, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping patient care and guiding the clinical direction of the service. You'll be supported by an experienced senior management team, dedicated admin support, and the flexibility for remote or hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
Lead clinical decision-making within a supportive multidisciplinary team
Monitor care outcomes and ensure alignment with best practice and regulatory standards
Contribute to service development and foster a positive therapeutic environment
Participate in a 2nd on-call rota (non-residential, low contact rate)Candidate Requirements
CCT or CESR in psychiatry
Approved Clinician status
