Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is delivering a £679 million improvement project on the A428 in Cambridgeshire to bring a new 10-mile dual carriageway between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts. Working closely with design partner Mott MacDonald, this project builds on Skanska’s long-standing and trusted relationship with National Highways.
This scheme will transform one of the busiest road links in the East of England, helping drivers who live, work and travel in and around the surrounding areas to save time on their journeys and help build a better society.
We are now looking for a Planning Engineer to join the project. As Planning Engineer, you will work with the project planning team to develop, maintain and update the project programme.
You’ll:
* Assist in maintaining and updating the main project programme, applying correct coding so the programme suits the project and Skanska’s needs.
* Apply planned and actual resources to the programme.
* Communicate programmes to all users, highlighting the constraints and resources.
* Provide the link between the planning and delivery teams initiating the short-term programme and assisting with its development and leading the 4-weekly collaborative planning sessions.
* Identify areas of developing programme risk alongside the planning and project team.
* Review suppliers’ programmes, ensuring that they align with the required planning standards and project requirements/dates.
Minimum Requirements:
* Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.
* Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.
* Experience of various methods of planning and progress monitoring working for a construction contractor.
* Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
Preferred experience (not essential):
* Degree/HND/HNC in Construction Engineering.
