As a registered practitioner, the post holder is personally accountable for their practice and must adhere to the NMC/HCPC standards expected of them. They will delegate duties appropriately, teaching and coordinating other members of the healthcare team. In the absence of the Theatre Manager, they will carry continuing responsibility for the effective management of the department throughout the 24-hour period, maintaining control over delegated duties.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of General Surgery lists. This includes planning and ordering for future lists, management and development of staff, and working with members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide timely, high-standard care to patients. You will also assist the Theatre Manager in the continuing responsibility for the management of the Department, including the deployment of staff, equipment, supplies, and other resources.
