You will work closely with a team of Publishers managing our STM journals programme at a time of substantial operational and strategic development. This entry-level position will provide a strong grounding in the principles and practice of scholarly journals publishing and lay an excellent foundation for a career in editorial journal management. About the role Working across a portfolio of 40-50 journals, you will support the editorial development of our STM journals portfolio by providing general administrative support to a friendly and collaborative team of Publishers in Cambridge and New York. Through a supportive and empowering culture, the team is responsible for delivering an efficient and high-quality publishing service for authors, readers and publishing partners. The role includes:
* Supporting colleagues in the preparation of publishing reports, financial statements, development plans, forecasts and tender documents
* Assisting with the delivery of standalone operational projects
* Conducting data analysis and research across a range of subject areas
We are looking for an individual educated to degree level or equivalent, who has a demonstrable passion for academic publishing and knowledge of the function of peer-reviewed journals within it. This is a busy role, demanding good organisational and time-management skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise. Good IT skills, especially proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, and good written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Previous office experience would be an advantage.
