We’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join our growing Water Solutions team in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, or Plymouth. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering South West Water's and Wessex Water's £8 billion capital programmes. These projects span from small rural sites to multi-million-pound schemes and cover both water and wastewater (Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure). The frameworks are long-term, extending through AMP8 and AMP9. You’ll contribute to two major frameworks as part of this investment: South West Water : Framework for Engineering Consultancy Services - Lot 3 - Multi-Discipline Engineering Design. Wessex Water : Capital Delivery Partner Framework Agreement - Lot 2 - Design Consultants. As part of AECOM, you’ll engage in impactful projects from inception through to delivery, enhancing the environment and supporting communities. Here's what you'll do: Collaborate with a dynamic and diverse team to deliver impactful solutions for the communities we serve, contributing to technical work, site work, and project management. Conduct technical and feasibility studies to assess practical and buildable solutions for potable water, foul water, surface water, and attenuation needs, including detailed calculations and integration with other disciplines. Perform numerical analyses using advanced software tools to evaluate potable, surface, and wastewater systems. Carry out structural analysis and design, including determining load cases and leveraging analysis software for accurate assessments. Design water infrastructure, such as pump systems and pipe networks, emphasizing safety in design by preparing Designer’s Risk Assessments and working closely with technicians to produce comprehensive working drawings. Stay updated on changes in regulatory legislation, standards, and guidelines that could impact design processes. Gain valuable on-site experience through site visits and project implementation, enhancing your understanding of how designs translate into real-world outcomes.
