The role: Senior IT Endpoint Engineer
The salary: £49,000 - £57,000
The location: Edinburgh
Hybrid working is available for this role with a minimum of 2 days on-site a week.
I'm working with a fantastic Edinburgh-based organisation as they look to add a Senior IT Endpoint Engineer to their Edinburgh team to help lead the development and management of their IT Infrastructure and long-term strategy. In this role you'll assume a leadership role in the development and management of cutting-edge systems and processes, focusing on the efficiency and stability of the organisation's service. The successful candidate will also provide expert technical support to all internal users.
This role is perfect for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys being in an environment where no two days are the same and where you want to be hands-on across many different types of infrastructure. There will be the opportunity to work across a range of technologies and work alongside other technical teams as part of the ongoing modernisation project.
Your day-to-day:
1. Lead the development and management of the organisation's Windows supported desktop infrastructure.
2. Plan and develop future services on a long-term basis in line with the long-term strategy of the organisation.
3. Enable remote and on-demand installation of operating systems, applications and configurations.
4. Provide expert technical support to internal colleagues across the organisation.
5. Evaluate existing systems and processes and propose enhancements and efficiencies to optimise performance and security.
6. Ensure effective technical documentation to build the organisation's knowledge base to be shared between colleagues.
7. Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.
About you:
1. You'll have specialist experience working with Large-Scale Endpoint Management.
2. Strong knowledge of SCCM.
3. Strong experience in managing Windows operating systems within enterprise environments, including image deployment, group policies, and software distribution.
4. Extensive knowledge of networking technologies.
5. Experience with PowerShell scripting, WMI and other related management and automation tools.
6. A great understanding of desktop security principles and experience implementing them.
7. Experience providing high-level technical support.
8. A practical understanding of database systems.
9. Experience in staff supervision and skills development.
10. Experience with building a knowledge base and developing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
11. Familiarity with application packaging.
