Cook - The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Home
We are recruiting for a reliable and experienced cook to join our busy kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have high standards in quality and presentation, delivering nutritious meals that meet residents' preferences.
This role involves working one day a week from 8:00am to 6:00pm, within budgets set by the home manager. Our residents enjoy traditional home-cooked meals, such as Sunday roasts, and desserts like jam sponge or crumble with custard. We also celebrate birthdays with special cakes and sponges prepared by our cooks and KA's.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS / PVG check.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
* Follow the home's policies and procedures.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.
* Manage resources effectively and order food supplies.
* Report any catering-related issues or concerns from service users to the Care Centre Manager.
* Attend mandatory and in-house training sessions.
* Understand and adhere to COSHH regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
* NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate.
* Knowledge of textured and modified diets.
* Experience in a care, hospital, or commercial kitchen is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to relate to residents in a kind and courteous manner.
