Job Title: Electrical Supervisor
Location: Sittingbourne
Salary: £46,000 per annum
About the Role:
An experienced Electrical Supervisor is sought to manage the day-to-day operations of electricians and apprentices, ensuring compliance with company policies and the rules of enrolment with the Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC). This role involves leading a team to deliver high-quality electrical services, providing technical support, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational:
* Provide technically sound knowledge, support, and guidance to colleagues and clients on electrical installations and related tasks.
* Advise and support the team with day-to-day activities and out-of-hours service provision.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with the team, clients, and external consultants, ensuring smooth communication and cooperation.
* Liaise with the NICEIC to ensure compliance with all rules and requirements for continued membership and enrollment.
* Collaborate with the supply chain to maximize social value delivery, including work experience, apprenticeships, employment opportunities, volunteering, and funding support.
Commercial:
* Procure sub-contractors at the best possible rates while ensuring quality standards are met.
* Utilize knowledge of the Housing Federation Schedule of Rates to streamline operations.
* Drive the productivity and commercial return of operatives without compromising quality or safety.
Health and Safety:
* Ensure all work is carried out with the highest regard for safety.
* Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture within the team and on-site.
* Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to health and safety non-conformities.
* Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all projects, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in electrical supervision, including managing electricians and apprentices.
* Strong knowledge of electrical installations and repairs and maintenance in both commercial and residential sectors.
* Expertise in electrical problem-solving and troubleshooting.
* In-depth understanding of NICEIC standards and regulations.
* Ability to manage procurement and sub-contractor relationships to ensure cost-effective and quality-driven solutions.
* Knowledge of the Housing Federation Schedule of Rates (or similar pricing structures).
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
* A commitment to promoting and enforcing a positive health and safety culture.
* Experience preparing RAMS, risk assessments, and method statements.
